Central female protagonists have always been a part of the Hindi Indian film industry. Our classics have never treated a central female character as 'extraordinary'.

However, nowadays, whenever a film with a heroine as the central protagonist is a hit, people exclaim about how even a heroine can draw in the audience. It's time to be unsurprised by this as 2011 proves.
